Communication

During a course of one year in METSA, a student will do about 40-50 presentations, some might be big and some might be small, but regardless of the importance of them, you must know how to communicate with your audience. METSA teaches students how to present in front of groups, classmates or not, within and outside of the classroom, for various purposes. Prior to METSA, I was very shy and quiet but have since grown into someone who is very verbal and finds it easier to talk to people even when I'm not presenting. I am still trying to master reducing my verbal fillers but have found that I have a voice, and I am definitely not afraid to use it. Aside from oral communication, there is also a need to communicate through pen and paper, and in some cases, keyboard. In METSA we learn how to do this written communication, from emails to documents and writing work, METSA prepares us for how to effectively communicate with others for various purposes. We often have to email teachers questions, contact people outside of our school for information, as well as create documents and PowerPoints that share new ideas.
