Mu Alpha Theta
National Honor Society (NHS)

I have a great sense of pride in my school and I want to be as involved as possible. I believe that by joining clubs, one can find out a lot about themself and others. I love belonging to a body of people and being able to form a relationship with them through a common interest. I have been fortunate enough to be honored and inducted into a lot of programs which I am very appreciative of. While I did not have the opportunity to do sports during high school, I believe that I developed a similar sense of team and belonging through academic involvements and music.

I have been in choir since the beginning of my high school experience and am now the tresurer of the R.L. Turner choral department. Choir has taught me more than just music and singing, it has also taught me the importance of team work, discipline, time management, and most importantly to me, self-discovery. Through competitions, concerts, and even socials, I have developed my own personality and sense of being.

As the "voice of METSA" the Student Advisory Board works to prepare socials and events for the program. We also spread the word of upcoming events, play a role in community activities, and help to promote the traditions of METSA. As the organizers and helpers, we meet and discuss what is going on in METSA and work to improve or address things.

GEAR is a student association that stands to prepare students for college. Through mentors and presenters, we are able to learn about different scholarship and college prep opportunities from those who have experience and knowledge of them and can give us insight and opinions over different things.
