Citizenship and Ethics are a direct reflection on our ability to be positive contributors to our community through leadership, volunteerism, and ethical behavior. In METSA, we are given a lot of different opportunities to not only volunteer at our school, but also in our community. We are constantly getting emails over what we can do to help those around us and different service activities that we have the opportunity to take part in. In order to actually graduate and get our METSA seal, we must complete a community service log during each of our 4 years in METSA. These hours include 10 community service hours as a freshman, 15 as a sophomore, 20 as a junior, and 25 during our senior year. I show my citizenship and ethics by working with the Homeless Coalition of Dallas along with one of my other friends who introduced the idea to me and Hunger Busters. To the right, I have a link to the page "Giving Back" on my Digital Portfolio in which I have a gallery of photos and a brief explanation as to what we do as a part of these service groups. I also have some snapshots of some of the many e-mails that we get throughout the year giving us information over what we as METSA students can do to take part in and help our community/school.
