Career Preparation

Career Preparation is an accountability of our efforts to investigate and prepare for a career path that fits our personality and skills. I have done this through career panels that METSA holds at least once every 6-9 weeks in which professionals from a chosen field come to talk to us about what they do for a living. Through this, we are able to ask questions and establish our own idea of what that chosen career would be like and whether or not it interests us personally. Through experience and a lot of self-discover, I have found that I am very interested in a career in engineering, specifically Mechanical and Forensic, but I am also interested in marketing. I know that I am a "people person" but I am also someone who loves to solve problems and impact people in a positive way. In my personal time I also do research over careers that interest me, have high salaries, and also fit my personality best. To the right, I have a PowerPoint that I had to create for my Biotechnology class over Forensic Engineering, a document that I did in my spare time that includes facts and descriptions over my three Engineering interests- Environmental, Mechanical, and Forensic, and a link to a Career Personality test that I did online in order to get an idea of what fields fit my personality best.
